Imagine spending several weeks on the rugged coast of Maine with only the sound of seagulls, the crashing waves or the lobster boats on their way out to haul fresh lobsters from the sea. This quaint summer cottage is located on Martin Point in Friendship, Maine, a small coastal fishing village on Muscongus Bay. It's a short hour and a half drive from Portland or Bangor International Airports and three and one half hours from Boston.

The cottage has a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and a small eating area. There's one bathroom with shower downstairs and a living room with fireplace. A small gas heater will take the chill off the early morning hours. There are three small bedrooms upstairs, one with a new double bed for couples, the other two with one individual single bed in each room. There's cable TV and a private phoneline for calls or internet hookup.
You can sit on the front deck and breathe the clean Maine air or take a walk down the steps to the shoreline right below. It's only a few hundred feet around the corner to a sandy beach perfect for sunbathing and (if you can stand the chill) a swim in Maine's summer ocean water. Muscongus Bay is an ideal place for all kinds of boating. You can lauch your own sailboat or power boat or put in kayak and spend hours exploring all the beautiful islands, coves and lighthouses only a short distance away.
The town of Friendship is only two miles away where you can find a local
market, hardware store and of course all the fresh lobster you can eat
right off the wharf. It's only a short distance farther to the larger
towns of Thomaston, Waldoboro and Rockland where you can find nearly all
the amenities of home that you expect. RENTAL:
